I struggled with drug & alcohol addiction for 45 years and had various relapses and went through various treatment programmes, none of which worked for me for long. That changed when I came to the ISIS, (CRI), project in Islington.

What changed for me was being offered support and responsibility. I took up volunteering and hour a week and after eight months I was running a shop which I still do now, two and a half years on. The key for staying clean for me was in the trust and responsibility I was given.

I am the Service User Rep for ISIS which I have been for over two years where I offer my time and experience to support my peers at ISIS and make sure that they are represented in the service.
